The launch of Cheeky Hair by Josh Wood at Barber & Parlour has seen a seismic shift in London as the East/West divide gets considerably smaller. On the first floor of the new Soho House emporium, sits Cheeky Hair by Josh Wood, home to Josh’s emerging team of talented colourists and stylists. This is not a salon in the traditional sense, combining Josh’s ‘anti-salon’ ethic with East London’s casual attitude to create the ultimate home-from-home enclave – a space to work from whilst being beautified (the perfect multi-tasking enabler), a ‘no appointment necessary’ beauty quick fix before a date or a girly group catch up over manis and blow-outs.
Think of it as kicking back in the intimate atmosphere of Soho House, a cocoon of coolness where you can eat, drink, and socialize all while being primped, primed and groomed to perfection.
In September 2011 Josh launched his Atelier in Notting Hill as a hub for his dream team of talent in the realms of styling, colouring and beauty. Coined the ‘anti-salon’, it is an ever evolving space with art collaborations, bespoke floral arrangements and an interior with unique features like a living wall, custom designed by Yen Yen of Emulsion Architecture.
Think of it as a private salon with personalised ipad playlists, concierge services and delicious, freshly produced dishes and smoothies – all mixed with Josh producing incredible colour for his coterie of clients.
Amidst the cutting-edge fashion and eclectic design of the beloved Liberty department store you’ll find the hub of London’s hot new hair talent – the Josh Wood Liberty Atelier Hair LAB.
Overlooking the bustling environs of dynamic Carnaby Street, this West End ‘sister salon’ of Josh Wood’s flagship Holland Park Atelier, is home to an emerging generation of colourists and stylists. The growing team of young talent are high end in skill and service, yet have low maintenance prices – giving the creatives of the area access to the trend-setting Josh Wood team at an affordable price point.
